حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا الْجُرَيْرِيُّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَرَأَيْتَ لَوْ أَنِّي عَلِمْتُ لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ مَا كُنْتُ أَدْعُو بِهِ رَبِّي عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ، أَوْ : مَا كُنْتُ أَسْأَلُهُ ؟ قَالَ : " قُولِي : اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once she submitted in the court of the Messenger, "O Prophet of Allah! Tell me, if I attain Laylatul Qadr, what supplication should I make in it?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "You should supplicate: O Allah! You are Most Forgiving, and You love forgiveness, so forgive me."
