Hadith 25497

حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا كَهْمَسٌ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنْ وَافَقْتُ لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ ، بِمَ أَدْعُو ؟ قَالَ : " قُولِي : اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ ، فَاعْفُ عَنِّي " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once she submitted in the court of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Tell me, if I attain Laylat al-Qadr, what supplication should I make in it?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "You should supplicate: O Allah! You are Most Forgiving, You love forgiveness, so forgive me."
