حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ إِذَا اعْتَكَفَ يُدْنِي إِلَيَّ رَأْسَهُ أُرَجِّلُهُ ، وَكَانَ لَا يَدْخُلُ بَيْتَهُ إِلَّا لِحَاجَةِ الْإِنْسَانِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to observe i'tikaf and would extend his head out from the mosque, and I would comb it. Except for human need, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would not enter the house.
