قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ : مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ ، عَنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي يُونُسَ مَوْلَى عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : أَمَرَتْنِي عَائِشَةُ أَنْ أَكْتُبَ لَهَا مُصْحَفًا ، قَالَتْ : إِذَا بَلَغْتَ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ فَآذِنِّي : حَافِظُوا عَلَى الصَّلَوَاتِ وَالصَّلاةِ الْوُسْطَى سورة البقرة آية 238 ، قَالَ : فَلَمَّا بَلَغْتُهَا آذَنْتُهَا ، فَأَمْلَتْ عَلَيَّ : " حَافِظُوا عَلَى الصَّلَوَاتِ وَالصَّلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى وَصَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ وَقُومُوا لِلَّهِ قَانِتِينَ " ، ثُمَّ قَالَتْ : سَمِعْتُهَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
Abu Yunus, who was the freed slave of Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), says: Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) ordered me to write a copy of the Noble Qur'an for her, and she said: When you reach this verse, "Guard strictly the prayers, especially the middle prayer," then inform me. So when I reached there, I informed her. She had me write this verse: "Guard strictly the prayers, especially the middle prayer and the Asr prayer, and stand before Allah with devotion," and she said: I heard this verse from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in this way.
