It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha that once the Prophet (peace be upon him) went to the mosque and started offering prayer, people gathered and they also joined the Prophet (peace be upon him) in prayer. The next night, more people gathered than before, and the same happened on the third day. On the fourth day, so many people gathered that there was no room left in the mosque for anyone else to enter, but that day the Prophet (peace be upon him) stayed at home and did not come out. Then when he led the Fajr prayer, he said: "Your condition tonight was not hidden from me, but I feared that this prayer might become obligatory upon you and then you would not be able to perform it, and this was during Ramadan."
