Hadith 25421

Muhammad bin Muntashir says that he asked Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) about this issue: Can a man apply perfume to his Ihram (before making the intention for Ihram)? He replied: I would prefer to apply tar to my clothes rather than do that. He then asked Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) the same question and also mentioned Ibn Umar’s answer in detail. She said: May Allah have mercy on Abu Abdur Rahman! I myself used to apply perfume to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would go to his wives, and in the morning he would make the intention for Ihram, and the fragrance of perfume would be emanating from his Ihram.
