حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا كَهْمَسٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ : يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ وَافَقْتُ لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ ، مَا أَقُولُ ؟ قَالَ : " تَقُولِينَ : اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ ، فَاعْفُ عَنِّي " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once she submitted in the court of the Messenger, "O Messenger of Allah! Tell me, if I attain Laylat al-Qadr, what supplication should I make in it?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "You should supplicate: O Allah! You are Most Forgiving, and You love forgiveness, so forgive me."
