Hadith 25373

حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا مُغِيرَةُ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُفْرِغُ يَمِينَهُ لِمَطْعَمِهِ وَلِحَاجَتِهِ ، وَيُفْرِغُ شِمَالَهُ لِلِاسْتِنْجَاءِ وَلِمَا هُنَاكَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the right hand of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was for eating and necessary tasks, and the left hand was for cleaning oneself and similar purposes.
