Hakam says that once Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair (may Allah have mercy on him) led us in the Maghrib prayer with three rak'ahs as in the state of residence, then after saying salam, he led the 'Isha prayer with two rak'ahs due to the state of travel, and then said that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) had done the same and had said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had also done the same.
