حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ ، عَنْ يُوسُفَ بْنِ مَاهَكَ ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ بِنْتِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ نُعِقَّ عَنِ الْجَارِيَةِ شَاةً ، وَعَنِ الْغُلَامِ شَاتَيْنِ ، وَأَمَرَنَا بِالْفَرَعِ مِنْ كُلِّ خَمْسِ شِيَاهٍ شَاةٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded us that for a boy’s aqeeqah, two equal goats should be sacrificed, and for a girl, one goat. He also commanded that for every five, one goat should be sacrificed.
