حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَطَاءٌ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ ، قَالَ : كُنَّا مُسْتَنِدَيْنِ إِلَى الْحُجْرَةِ ، وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ صَوْتَ السِّوَاكِ أَوْ سِوَاكَهَا وَهِيَ تَسْتَنُّ . قُلْتُ : يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، اعْتَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي رَجَبٍ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، قُلْتُ : يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ، أَلَا تَسْتَمِعِينَ ، مَا يَقُولُ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ؟ قَالَتْ : وَمَا يَقُولُ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ؟ قَالَ : يَقُولُ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اعْتَمَرَ فِي رَجَبٍ . قَالَتْ : " يَغْفِرُ اللَّهُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، وَاللَّهِ مَا اعْتَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ عُمْرَةٍ أَوْ عُمْرَةً إِلَّا وَأَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مَعَهُ ، وَمَا اعْتَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي رَجَبٍ " .
Urwah bin Zubair (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once we were sitting leaning against the room of Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she was using a miswak and I could hear its sound. I asked Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) whether the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed Umrah in the month of Rajab? He replied, "Yes!" I conveyed this to Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), so she said, "May Allah have mercy on Abu Abdur Rahman, whenever the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed Umrah, he (Ibn Umar) was with him (but he forgot that) the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) never performed Umrah in the month of Rajab."
