قَالَ : قَالَ : وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " تَعَوَّذُوا بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ ، مِنْ هَمْزِهِ وَنَفْخِهِ وَنَفْثِهِ " . قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، وَمَا هَمْزُهُ وَنَفْخُهُ وَنَفْثُهُ ؟ قَالَ : " أَمَّا هَمْزُهُ ، فَهَذِهِ الْمُوتَةُ الَّتِي تَأْخُذُ بَنِي آدَمَ ، وَأَمَّا نَفْخُهُ فَالْكِبْرُ ، وَأَمَّا نَفْثُهُ فَالشِّعْرُ " .
He said: He said: And the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to say: "Seek refuge in Allah from the accursed devil, from his madness, his arrogance, and his poetry." They said: O Messenger of Allah, what is his madness, his arrogance, and his poetry? He said: "As for his madness, it is the seizure (epilepsy) that befalls the children of Adam; as for his arrogance, it is pride; and as for his poetry, it is poetry."
