It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to mention Hazrat Khadijah (may Allah be pleased with her), he would praise her greatly. One day, I felt jealous and said, "Why do you mention that old woman with red gums so frequently, who has died, and in whose place Allah has given you better wives?" The face of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) became as red as it would only become at the time of the descent of revelation, or when clouds would gather and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would observe whether it was a sign of mercy or a sign of hardship.
