حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ ، حَدَّثَنِي جَعْفَرُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ ، عَنْ عِرَاكِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْعِشَاءَ ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ قَائِمًا ، وَرَكْعَتَيْنِ جَالِسًا بَيْنَ النِّدَاءَيْنِ لَمْ يَكُنْ يَدَعُهُمَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) offered the Isha prayer. Then he performed eight rak'ahs standing, then two rak'ahs between the adhan and iqamah of Fajr, which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) never used to omit.
