Hadith 25208

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ ، حَدَّثَنِي عُقَيْلٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَرَادَ النَّوْمَ جَمَعَ يَدَيْهِ ، فَيَنْفُثُ فِيهِمَا ، ثُمَّ يَقْرَأُ : قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ و َقُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ و َقُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ ، ثُمَّ يَمْسَحُ بِهِمَا وَجْهَهُ وَرَأْسَهُ وَسَائِرَ جَسَدِهِ " . قَالَ عُقَيْلٌ : وَرَأَيْتُ ابْنَ شِهَابٍ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that whenever the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would come to his bed every night, he would join his palms together, recite Surah Ikhlas and the two Mu'awwidhatayn over them, blow into them, and then wipe his hands over his body as far as possible, starting with his head, face, and the front of his body.
