Hadith 25145

It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once Hazrat Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) asked about "ghusl after menstruation," so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Take water and lote tree leaves and purify yourself thoroughly, then pour water over your head and rub well so that the water reaches the roots, then pour water again, then take a piece of musk and purify yourself with it. She asked, "How should a woman purify herself with it?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Subhan Allah! She should purify herself with it. In fact, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) meant that she should remove the traces of blood with it. Then she asked about "ghusl after sexual impurity," so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Take water and purify yourself thoroughly, and pour water over your head and rub well so that the water reaches the roots, then pour water over yourself. Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says: The women of the Ansar are very good; their shyness does not prevent them from understanding the religion.
