حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ رَبٍّ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ سَائِبَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أَمَرَ بِقَتْلِ ذِي الطُّفْيَتَيْنِ وَالْأَبْتَرِ " ، وَقَالَ : " إِنَّهُمَا يَطْمِسَانِ الْبَصَرَ ، وَيُسْقِطَانِ الْوَلَدَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered the killing of those snakes which have a short tail or two stripes, because such snakes cause blindness and miscarry pregnancies from the wombs of women.
