حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ لَمِيسَ ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ : سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ . قالت : قلت لها : المرأة تَصْنَعُ الدُّهْنَ تَحَبَّبُ إِلَى زَوْجِهَا ؟ فَقَالَتْ : " أَمِيطِي عَنْكِ تِلْكَ الَّتِي لَا يَنْظُرُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلَيْهَا " ، قَالَتْ : وَقَالَتْ امْرَأَةٌ لِعَائِشَةَ : يَا أُمَّهْ ، فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ : " إِنِّي لَسْتُ بِأُمِّكُنَّ ، وَلَكِنِّي أُخْتُكُنَّ " . قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ : وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْلِطُ الْعِشْرِينَ بِصَلَاةٍ وَنَوْمٍ ، فَإِذَا كَانَ الْعَشْرُ شَمَّرَ وَشَدَّ الْمِئْزَرَ أو شدَّ الإزار وشَمَّر " .
Lamis says that once I asked Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) whether a woman applies oil to gain her husband's love. She replied, "Keep away from yourself that which Allah Almighty does not look upon with mercy." Then a woman addressed Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) by saying "Mother," so she said, "I am not your mother, rather I am your sister." And she said that in the first twenty days of Ramadan, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would both sleep and pray, but when the last ten days began, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would strive hard and tighten his waistcloth.
