Hadith 25134

حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُغِيرَةُ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا اسْتَرَاثَ الْخَبَرَ تَمَثَّلَ فِيهِ بِبَيْتِ طَرَفَةَ : " وَيَأْتِيكَ بِالْأَخْبَارِ مَنْ لَمْ تُزَوِّدِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was waiting for some news and there was a delay in it, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would recite this verse of Tarafah on that occasion: "The person will bring you news whom you did not provide provisions for the journey."
