حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ مُجَالِدٍ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَاضِعًا يَدَيْهِ عَلَى مَعْرَفَةِ فَرَسٍ ، وَهُوَ يُكَلِّمُ رَجُلًا ، قُلْتُ : رَأَيْتُكَ وَاضِعًا يَدَيْك عَلَى مَعْرَفَةِ فَرَسِ دِحْيَةَ الْكَلْبِيِّ وَأَنْتَ تُكَلِّمُهُ ، قَالَ : " وَرَأَيْتِيهِ ؟ " قَالَتْ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : " ذَاكَ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام ، وَهُوَ يُقْرِئُكِ السَّلَامَ " . قَالَتْ : وَعَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ ، جَزَاهُ اللَّهُ خَيْرًا مِنْ صَاحِبٍ وَدَخِيلٍ ، فَنِعْمَ الصَّاحِبُ ، وَنِعْمَ الدَّخِيلُ . قَالَ سُفْيَانُ : الدَّخِيلُ : الضَّيْفُ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with his hand on the head of a horse, talking to a man. Later, I said, "I saw you with your hand on the head of Dihya Kalbi's horse, talking to a man." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, "Did you see him?" I replied, "Yes!" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "That was Jibreel (Gabriel), and he was conveying greetings of peace to you." I replied, "And peace be upon him, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. May Allah reward him with goodness, both the host and the guest, for the host is excellent and the guest is excellent."
