حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ حَمَّادٍ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : أُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِضَبٍّ فَلَمْ يَأْكُلْهُ ، فَقُلْتُ : أَلَا نُطْعِمُهُ الْمَسَاكِينَ ؟ قَالَ : " لَا تُطْعِمُوهُمْ مِمَّا لَا تَأْكُلُونَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once a monitor lizard was brought to the Prophet (peace be upon him). The Prophet (peace be upon him) neither ate it nor forbade it. I said, "O Messenger of Allah! Should we not feed this to the poor?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Do not feed them what you do not eat yourselves."
