It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once Umm Sunbala came to the Prophet’s court bringing a gift of milk. At that time, the Prophet (peace be upon him) was not present at home. Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) told her that the Prophet (peace be upon him) had forbidden eating the food of the villagers. Meanwhile, the Prophet (peace be upon him) arrived along with Hazrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) and said, "O Umm Sunbala! What is this thing with you?" She replied, "O Messenger of Allah! It is milk, which I have brought as a gift for you." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "O Umm Sunbala! Bring it out." She brought it out. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Give it to Abu Bakr." So she did so. The second time, he asked her to pour it for Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). Then the third time, she poured it for the Prophet (peace be upon him), and the Prophet (peace be upon him) began to drink it. When the Prophet (peace be upon him) was drinking the milk of the tribe of Aslam, and it was cooling his liver, Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said, "O Messenger of Allah! I have heard that you have forbidden eating the food of the villagers." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Aisha! These people are not villagers; these are our countryside and we are their city. When they are called, they respond. They are not villagers."
