حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، قالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَتْنِي أُمُّ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ لَا يَرْقُدُ لَيْلًا وَلَا نَهَارًا ، فَيَسْتَيْقِظُ ، إِلَّا تَسَوَّكَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha that whenever the Prophet (peace be upon him) woke up from sleep, whether during the night or day, he would certainly use the miswak.
