حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَوَانَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " الْوَلَاءُ لِمَنْ أَعْتَقَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha that once the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: The right of wala’—that is, the inheritance of a freed slave—belongs only to the one who sets the slave free.
