حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَطَاءُ بْنُ السَّائِبِ ، عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " رَأَيْتُ جِبْرِيلَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام مُنْهَبِطًا ، قَدْ مَلَأَ مَا بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ ، وَعَلَيْهِ ثِيَابُ سُنْدُسٍ ، مُعَلَّقًا بِهِ اللُّؤْلُؤُ وَالْيَاقُوتُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: I once saw Hazrat Jibreel descending in his original form; he had filled all the space between the earth and the sky, and he was wearing garments of sundus (fine silk) adorned with pearls and rubies.
