حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَنَامَ وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ ، تَوَضَّأَ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ ، وَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَأْكُلَ وَيَشْرَبَ ، قَالَتْ : يَغْسِلُ يَدَيْهِ ، ثُمَّ يَأْكُلُ وَيَشْرَبُ " . .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha that when the Prophet (peace be upon him) wished to sleep in a state requiring ghusl, he would perform ablution as for prayer, and when he wished to eat or drink, he would wash his hands and then eat or drink.
