Urwah says that once Hazrat Aisha said to him, "O nephew! I saw something astonishing regarding the Prophet (peace be upon him) showing respect to his uncle, and that is: sometimes the Prophet (peace be upon him) would have pain in his side, and it would become very severe. We used to think that the Prophet (peace be upon him) was suffering from sciatica; we did not know that this ailment is called 'khasirah.' One day, the Prophet (peace be upon him) started having this pain, and it became so severe that he lost consciousness. We became worried, people also became frightened, and in our opinion, the Prophet (peace be upon him) was suffering from 'dhat al-janb.' So, we poured medicine into the mouth of the Prophet (peace be upon him). When that condition passed from the Prophet (peace be upon him) and he regained some composure, he realized that medicine had been poured into his mouth and he felt its effect. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, 'Do you think that Allah has afflicted me with this illness? By Allah, He will never afflict me with it. By the One in Whose hand is my soul, let there not remain in the house anyone except my uncle who does not have medicine poured into his mouth.' So I saw that medicine was poured into the mouth of every man, one by one. Then Hazrat Aisha mentioned the virtue of the people present in the house at that time and said, 'When medicine had been poured into the mouths of all the men and it was the turn of the pure wives, medicine was poured into the mouth of each woman.' She said, 'What do you think, that we will leave you?' Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) made them swear an oath, and we poured medicine into their mouths as well, while, O nephew! By Allah, she was fasting."
