حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ غَيْلَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْمُفَضَّلُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عُقَيْلُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْأَيْلِيُّ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ : أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ " إِذَا أَتَى إِلَى فِرَاشِهِ فِي كُلِّ لَيْلَةٍ جَمَعَ كَفَّيْهِ ، ثُمَّ نَفَثَ فِيهِمَا ، وَقَرَأَ فِيهِمَا قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ وَ قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ وَ قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ ثُمَّ مَسْحَ بِهِمَا مَا اسْتَطَاعَ مِنْ جَسَدِهِ ، يَبْدَأُ بِهِمَا عَلَى رَأْسِهِ وَوَجْهِهِ ، وَمَا أَقْبَلَ مِنْ جَسَدِهِ ، يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha that when the Prophet (peace be upon him) would come to his bed every night, he would bring his palms together and recite Surah Ikhlas and the two Mu'awwidhatayn over them, then blow into them, and wipe his hands over his body as far as possible, starting with his head, face, and the front of his body, and he would do this three times.
