حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْمُبَارَكُ ، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ ، قَالَ : أَتَيْتُ عَائِشَةَ ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ، إِنِّي أُرِيدُ أَنْ أَتَبَتَّلَ ؟ فَقَالَتْ : لَا تَفْعَلْ ، أَلَمْ تَقْرَأْ : لَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ سورة الأحزاب آية 21 قَدْ تَزَوَّجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَوُلِدَ لَهُ " .
Sa'd bin Hisham says that once I presented myself before Hazrat Aisha and said, O Mother of the Believers! I want to become a recluse. She replied, Do not do so. Do you not read in the Noble Qur'an: "Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah you have an excellent example" ? The Prophet (peace be upon him) also married and he also had children.
