حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا نَافِعٌ ، عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ : أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ تَصَدَّقَتْ بِشَيْءٍ ، فَأَمَرَتْ بَرِيرَةَ أَنْ تَأْتِيَهَا ، فَتَنْظُرَ إِلَيْهِ ، فَقَالَ لَهَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا تُحْصِي فَيُحْصَى عَلَيْكِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha that once a beggar asked her for something. She told Barirah, so she brought something. On this occasion, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said to her, "O Aisha! Do not give by counting, otherwise Allah will also give you by counting."
