حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ ، عَنْ خَالِهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، قَالَتْ : شَكَوْا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا يَجِدُونَ مِنَ الْوَسْوَسَةِ ، وَقَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّا لَنَجِدُ شَيْئًا ، لَوْ أَنَّ أَحَدَنَا خَرَّ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ ، كَانَ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ أَنْ يَتَكَلَّمَ بِهِ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " ذَاكَ مَحْضُ الْإِيمَانِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha that some companions complained to the Prophet (peace be upon him) about the whispers that occurred to them, saying, "O Messenger of Allah! Such thoughts come to us that it is more beloved to us to fall from the sky than to utter them." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "This is pure faith."
