Aswad bin Yazid was told by Hazrat Aisha about the Prophet (peace be upon him) regarding the night prayer that the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to sleep in the early part of the night and wake up in the last part of the night. Then, if he felt a need towards his wife, he would fulfill his need, then before touching water, he would stand up. When the first call to prayer was given, the Prophet (peace be upon him) would go quickly and pour water over his body, and if he was not in a state of major impurity, he would only perform the ablution for prayer and would offer two units of prayer.
