حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ الْحَسَنُ : قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ : يَوْمَ تُبَدَّلُ الأَرْضُ غَيْرَ الأَرْضِ وَالسَّمَوَاتُ سورة إبراهيم آية 48 أَيْنَ النَّاسُ ؟ قَالَ : " إِنَّ هَذَا لَشَيْءٌ مَا سَأَلَنِي عَنْهُ أَحَدٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي قَبْلَكِ ، النَّاسُ عَلَى الصِّرَاطِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha that regarding this verse "The Day when the earth will be changed to another earth..." I was the first to ask the Prophet (peace be upon him) about it. I asked, "O Messenger of Allah! (When the earth is changed) where will the people be at that time?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied, "On the Bridge of Sirat, and this is a question that no one from my Ummah before you has asked me."
