حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ الْخَفَّافُ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ التَّيْمِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَتْنِي أُمَيْنَةُ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ : أَنَّهَا سُئِلَتْ عَنْ نَبِيذِ الْجَرِّ ؟ فَقَالَتْ : تَعْجِزُ إِحْدَاكُنَّ أَنْ تَتَّخِذَ مِنْ أُضْحِيَّتِهَا سِقَاءً ! ثُمّ قَالَتْ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَوْ مَنَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ نَبِيذِ الْجَرِّ " ، وَكَذَا وَكَذَا نَسِيَهُ سُلَيْمَانُ.
A person asked Hazrat Aisha about the nabidh (fermented drink) made in a clay pot, so she said: "Are you women even incapable of making a water skin from the hide of your sacrificial animal?" Then she said: "The Prophet (peace be upon him) forbade nabidh made in clay pots and such-and-such things." Sulaiman forgot the explanation of "such-and-such things."
