حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ مُعَاذَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " مُرْنَ أَزْوَاجَكُنَّ يَغْسِلُوا عَنْهُمْ أَثَرَ الْخَلَاءِ وَالْبَوْلِ ، فَإِنَّا نَسْتَحْيِي أَنْ نَنْهَاهُمْ عَنْ ذَلِكَ ، وَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَفْعَلُهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha that some women from Basra came to her, so she instructed them to perform istinja with water and said, "Order your husbands to do the same, because the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to perform istinja with water."
