حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ : أَرْسَلَ إِلَيْنَا آلُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ بِقَائِمَةِ شَاةٍ لَيْلًا ، فَأَمْسَكْتُ ، وَقَطَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَوْ قَالَتْ : أَمْسَكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَطَعْتُ ، قَالَتْ : تَقُولُ لِلَّذِي تُحَدِّثُهُ : هَذَا عَلَى غَيْرِ مِصْبَاحٍ . قَالَ : قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ : " إِنَّهُ لَيَأْتِي عَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ الشَّهْرُ مَا يَخْتَبِزُونَ خُبْزًا وَلَا يَطْبُخُونَ قِدْرًا " . قَالَ حُمَيْدٌ : فَذَكَرْتُ لِصَفْوَانَ بْنِ مُحْرِزٍ ، فَقَالَ : لَا بَلْ كُلُّ شَهْرَيْنِ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha that once, at night, the family of Hazrat Abu Bakr sent a leg of goat to us. I took it, and the Prophet (peace be upon him) broke it, and this was done without a lamp. And sometimes a whole month would pass over the family of Muhammad (peace be upon him) in such a way that they would neither bake any bread nor cook any stew. Humaid says that when I narrated this hadith to Safwan bin Muhriz, he mentioned two months.
