Abdur Rahman bin Shumasah says that once I went to Hazrat Aisha Siddiqa to ask her something, so she said: I will narrate to you a hadith which I heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) narrate in this very house of mine: "O Allah! Whoever is made responsible for any affair of my ummah and causes them hardship, then O Allah, inflict hardship upon him; and whoever is made responsible for any affair of my ummah and treats them gently, then be gentle with him."
