It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha that once the Prophet (peace be upon him) came to me at the place of "Sarif." At that time, my menstruation had started and I was sitting with my head lowered. The Prophet (peace be upon him) saw me and said, "Have your days (of menstruation) started?" I replied, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah! And I think that women have been created only for evil." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "There is nothing like that; rather, this is a thing in which all the women of the children of Adam are afflicted."
