حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " خُذُوا مِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا تُطِيقُونَ ، فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَا يَمَلُّ حَتَّى تَمَلُّوا " ، قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ : وَكَانَ أَحَبُّ الصَّلَاةِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، إِذَا صَلَّى صَلَاةً دَاوَمَ عَلَيْهَا . قَالَ أَبُو سَلَمَةَ : قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : الَّذِينَ هُمْ عَلَى صَلاتِهِمْ دَائِمُونَ سورة المعارج آية 23.
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Take upon yourselves only as many deeds as you are able to bear, for Allah will not tire, but you will surely tire. And it was the practice of the Prophet (peace be upon him) that whenever he started a prayer, he would remain steadfast upon it, and the most beloved deed to the Prophet (peace be upon him) was that which was done consistently.
