حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي زَبَّانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يُصَلِّي فِي الْحُجْرَةِ وَأَنَا فِي الْبَيْتِ ، فَيَفْصِلُ بَيْنَ الشَّفْعِ وَالْوَتْرِ بِتَسْلِيمٍ يُسْمِعُنَاهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha that the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to pray in the chamber and I would be in the room. The Prophet (peace be upon him) would make salam between the two rak'ahs and witr, "whose voice we used to hear," and would join (the prayers).
