حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " لَمَّا قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَدِينَةَ ، وَعَكَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَبِلَالٌ ، فَكَانَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ إِذَا أَخَذَتْهُ الْحُمَّى ، قَالَ : كُلُّ امْرِئٍ مُصَبَّحٌ فِي أَهْلِهِ وَالْمَوْتُ أَدْنَى مِنْ شِرَاكِ نَعْلِهِ وَكَانَ بِلَالٌ إِذَا أَقْلَعَ عَنْهُ تَغَنَّى ، فَقَالَ : أَلَا لَيْتَ شِعْرِي هَلْ أَبِيتَنَّ لَيْلَةً بِوَادٍ وَحَوْلِي إِذْخِرٌ وَجَلِيلُ وَهَلْ أَرِدْنَ يَوْمًا مِيَاهَ مَجَنَّةٍ وَهَلْ يَبْدُوَنْ لِي شَامَةٌ وَطَفِيلُ اللَّهُمَّ اخْزِ عُتْبَةَ بْنَ رَبِيعَةَ ، وَشَيْبَةَ بْنَ رَبِيعَةَ ، وَأُمَيَّةَ بْنَ خَلَفٍ ، كَمَا أَخْرَجُونَا مِنْ مَكَّةَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha that when the Prophet (peace be upon him) arrived in Madinah Munawwarah, Hazrat Siddiq Akbar and Bilal also became ill. When Hazrat Siddiq Akbar had a fever, he used to say, "Every person wakes up among his family while death is closer to him than the strap of his sandal." When Bilal's fever would subside a little, he would recite this verse: "Alas! How would I know if I will ever again spend a night in Fakh, with 'Idhkhir' and 'Jaleel' grass around me? Will I ever reach the springs of Majannah one day, and will Shamah and Tufail appear before me? O Allah! Disgrace Utbah bin Rabi'ah and Umayyah bin Khalaf, just as they expelled us from Makkah Mukarramah."
