حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي لَيْثٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ : اسْتَفْتَتْ أُمُّ حَبِيبَةَ بِنْتُ جَحْشٍ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَتْ : إِنِّي أُسْتَحَاضُ ؟ قَالَ : " إِنَّمَا ذَاكَ عِرْقٌ ، فَاغْتَسِلِي ثُمَّ صَلِّي " فَكَانَتْ تَغْتَسِلُ عِنْدَ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ . قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ : لَمْ يَأْمُرْهَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ تَغْتَسِلَ عِنْدَ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ ، إِنَّمَا فَعَلَتْهُ هِيَ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha that once Umm Habibah bint Jahsh came to the service of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said that her menstrual bleeding continued constantly. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "This is blood from a vein, so during the days of menstruation, leave the prayers. After that, take a bath and perform ablution for every prayer and then offer the prayer."
