حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْأَشْجَعِيُّ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ ثَوْرٍ ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّهَا سُئِلَتْ عَنْ صَوْمِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ قَالَتْ : " كَانَ يَصُومُ شَعْبَانَ ، وَيَتَحَرَّى الِاثْنَيْنِ وَالْخَمِيسَ " .
A person asked Hazrat Aisha about the voluntary fasts of the Prophet (peace be upon him), so she replied that the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to fast in the month of Sha'ban and paid special attention to fasting on Mondays and Thursdays.
