حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا فُلَيْحٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبَّادِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ وَصَالِحِ بْنِ عَجْلَانَ ، ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ : أَنَّهَا أَمَرَتْ بِجِنَازَةِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ أَنْ يُمَرَّ بِهَا عَلَيْهَا ، فَمُرَّ بِهَا عَلَيْهَا ، فَبَلَغَهَا أَنْ قَدْ قِيلَ فِي ذَلِكَ ، فَقَالَتْ : مَا أَسْرَعَ النَّاسَ إِلَى الْقَوْلِ , وَاللَّهِ " مَا صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى سُهَيْلِ بْنِ بَيْضَاءَ إِلَّا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ " .
Ubad bin Abdullah bin Zubair says that when Hazrat Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas passed away, Hazrat Aisha ordered that his funeral be brought past her. Due to the funeral coming into the mosque, it became difficult. Hazrat Aisha prayed for Sa’d. Some people objected to this. When Hazrat Aisha found out, she said, “How quick people are to make comments! The Prophet (peace be upon him) offered the funeral prayer of Suhail bin Baida right in the mosque.”
