Hadith 24324

It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once a Jewish woman came to me and said that the punishment of the grave is due to not protecting oneself from the splashes of urine. She (Aisha) denied this, but the woman insisted on her statement, saying that we even scrape off urine if it gets on our clothes or skin. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had gone for prayer, and during the conversation, our voices became loud. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "What is this matter?" I told the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) what the Jewish woman had said, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "She has spoken the truth." From that day, after every prayer that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led, he would certainly recite this supplication aloud: "O Allah, Lord of Jibreel, Mika'il, and Israfil! Protect me from the heat of Hell and the punishment of the grave."
