Hadith 24305

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مِغْوَلٍ ، عَنْ مُقَاتِلِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ ، عَنْ شُرَيْحِ بْنِ هَانِئ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ عَنْ صَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ قَالَتْ : " لَمْ تَكُنْ صَلَاةٌ أَحْرَى أَنْ يُؤَخِّرَهَا إِذَا كَانَ عَلَى حَدِيثٍ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْعِشَاءِ الْآخِرَةِ ، وَمَا صَلَّاهَا قَطُّ ، فَدَخَلَ عَلَيَّ إِلَّا صَلَّى بَعْدَهَا أَرْبَعًا أَوْ سِتًّا ، وَمَا رَأَيْتُهُ يَتَّقِي عَلَى الْأَرْضِ بِشَيْءٍ قَطُّ إِلَّا أَنِّي أَذْكُرُ أَنَّ يَوْمَ مَطَرٍ أَلْقَيْنَا تَحْتَهُ بَتًّا ، فَكَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى خَرْقٍ فِيهِ يَنْبُعُ مِنْهُ الْمَاءُ " . .
Shuraih bin Hani (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I asked Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) about the prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so she said: If the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was engaged in any conversation, there was no prayer that he would delay more than the Isha prayer. And whenever the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to me after performing the Isha prayer, he would definitely offer four or six rak'ahs after that. And I never saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) protecting himself from the ground with anything, except that I remember an incident of one day when it was raining, we spread a thick cloth under the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and I saw that there was a hole in it through which water was coming inside.
