حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَطَاءً ، يَقُولُ : أَخْبَرَنِي عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ أَنَا وابْنُ عُمَرَ مُسْتَنِدَيْنِ إِلَى حُجْرَةِ عَائِشَةَ ، إِنَّا لَنَسْمَعُهَا تَسْتَنُّ ، قُلْتُ : يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، اعْتَمَرَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي رَجَبٍ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، قُلْتُ : يَا أُمَّتَاهُ ، مَا تَسْمَعِينَ مَا يَقُولُ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ؟ قَالَتْ : مَا يَقُولُ ؟ قُلْتُ : يَقُولُ : " اعْتَمَرَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي رَجَبٍ ، قَالَتْ : يَغْفِرُ اللَّهُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، نَسِيَ ، " مَا اعْتَمَرَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي رَجَبٍ " ، قَالَ : وَابْنُ عُمَرَ يَسْمَعُ ، فَمَا قَالَ : لَا ، وَلَا نَعَمْ ، سَكَتَ.
Urwah bin Zubair (may Allah have mercy on him) asked Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) whether the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed Umrah in the month of Rajab. He replied, "Yes!" Urwah conveyed this to Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), and she said, "May Allah have mercy on Abu Abdur Rahman. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed every Umrah that he performed, and they (Ibn Umar and others) were with him (but he forgot that) the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) never performed Umrah in Rajab." Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) neither affirmed nor denied this, but remained silent.
