حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ ، عَنْ عَزْرَةَ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ سَعْد بْنِ هِشَامٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ : كَانَ لَنَا سِتْرٌ فِيهِ تِمْثَالُ طَيْرٍ ، قَالَتْ : فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " حَوِّلِيهِ فَإِنِّي إِذَا رَأَيْتُهُ ذَكَرْتُ الدُّنْيَا " ، وَكَانَتْ لَنَا قَطِيفَةٌ نَلْبَسُهَا ، نَقُولُ عَلَمُهَا حَرِيرٌ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that we had a curtain on which there was a picture of a bird. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me, "Aisha! Change this curtain. Whenever I enter the house and my eyes fall upon it, the world comes to my mind." Similarly, we had a sheet about which we used to say that its designs were of silk, and we used to wear it.
