It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that during the illness of the Prophet (peace be upon him) leading to his death, we put medicine into his mouth. The Prophet (peace be upon him) kept signaling to us not to put medicine into his mouth, but we thought this was just like every sick person who dislikes medicine. When the Prophet (peace be upon him) regained consciousness, he said, "Did I not forbid you from putting medicine into my mouth?" Now, except for Abbas, let no one remain in this house whose mouth is not given medicine, because he was not present with you.
