حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، قَالَ أَبِي : ح وَوَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ الْمَعْنَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّ أُمَّ حَبِيبَةَ ، وَأُمَّ سَلَمَةَ ، ذَكَرَتَا كَنِيسَةً رَأَيْنَهَا بِالْحَبَشَةِ ، فِيهَا تَصَاوِيرُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ أُولَئِكَ إِذَا كَانَ فِيهِمْ الرَّجُلُ الصَّالِحُ ، فَمَاتَ ، بَنَوْا عَلَى قَبْرِهِ مَسْجِدًا ، وَصَوَّرُوا فِيهِ تِلْكَ الصُّوَرَ ، أُولَئِكَ شِرَارُ الْخَلْقِ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " ، قَالَ أَبِي : قَالَ وَكِيعٌ : إِنَّهُمْ تَذَاكَرُوا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي مَرَضِهِ ، فَذَكَرَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ وَأُمُّ حَبِيبَةَ كَنِيسَةً رَأَيْنَهَا فِي أَرْضِ الْحَبَشَةِ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that Hazrat Umm Habibah and Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with them) once mentioned a church which they had seen in Abyssinia and in which there were pictures. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: When a righteous man among those people would die, they would build a mosque over his grave and make these pictures there. They will be the worst of creatures in the sight of Allah on the Day of Resurrection.
